The Guildford & District Group of Advanced Motorists (hereafter called Guildford Advanced Motorists) was formed over 25 years ago. The aim of the group is to promote "Safer roads for Surrey".
The group meets at the council depot in Bellfields, Guildford (click on the map to the left) on the 3rd Sunday of every month which is when we conduct observed runs with associates.
Becoming a member is easy and the
"Skill For Life" package costs no more than £139.
This fee covers:
- membership of the Guildford Group
- A place on our course to prepare for the IAM Test (which typically includes 6 observed-runs in your own vehicle)
- A copy of the book "'How to be a better driver" and a fresh copy of the "Highway Code"
- The IAM Test Fee
- The first years membership of the IAM.
To join us and take that first step towards becoming a safer driver, please either get in touch with our First Point of Contact, Chris Hughes by emailing him (click here to do this) or calling him on 07814 172531, or, you can order online by clicking here.
You can find the rest of the team's details on the contacts page.
Other activities
The group also organises and runs other activities during the year. The most sought after is the skid-pan courses which run during the summer months. As usual, we'll be running these courses from May to July most years, and the dates will be announced both on the website and in the newsletters shortly. Places on these courses go quickly, so keep your eyes open and book your place soon.
If you have any questions regarding this or any other group activity, please feel free to contact us for further information.
