What We Do

The aim of the group is to promote "Safer roads for Surrey". In our 30 years existence we have helped hundreds of motorists pass the IAM Advanced Driving Test and many of them remain members of our Group. Some decide to bring something back to the Group by training to become an Observer and helping to continue our work.

Members enjoy from the talks we organise on driving skills and new motoring ideas as well as honing practical skills at events such as our Skid Control days. Our quarterly newsletter keeps member in touch with activities and provides articles on motoring topics. Details of forthcoming events and reports of recent activities are available in the Activities section of this website along with information on membership benefits and links to local and national organisations which may be of interest.

Associates receive help and advice from our team of over 30 Observers in preparing to take the IAM Advanced Driving Test. The preparation comprises an introduction to advanced driving techniques and regular on-the-road work to bring the practical skills to the level needed for success in the test and continued implementation in day-to-day driving. More details of how we help Associates prepare for the test can be found by clicking here.

Information and comment is also provided to local media and other organisations on motoring topics. We can also arrange to talk to your organisation or company about safer driving.
